The College of Policing must publish a timeline for its stop and search consultation
Andy George (opens in a new tab) raises a fair question. The College of Policing (opens in a new tab)'s own consultation material acknowledged the disproportionate impact of stop and search on Black people, children and young people, and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds, which is exactly why an update matters, not as a courtesy to those who responded, but to the communities directly affected. The Alliance for Police Accountability (opens in a new tab) (APA) will be writing to the College to ask for a timeline and clarity on how the evidence submitted has shaped the final guidance. We'd welcome working with National Black Police Association (opens in a new tab) and others who responded to keep this visible. #StopAndSearch (opens in a new tab) #PolicingStandards (opens in a new tab)
