The Steering Group

Strategy shared over coffee between sessions.

The APA Steering Group provides strategic leadership, challenge and guidance to our work. Its members bring experience from community organising, policing, law, race equality, public policy, academia and institutional reform.

The Steering Group helps protect the APA's independence, maintain our focus on community accountability and ensure that our work is informed by both lived experience and professional expertise.

As the APA develops towards becoming an independent organisation, the Steering Group also supports the transition from a coalition and programme model towards stronger long-term governance and organisational infrastructure.

An alliance by design

The APA is an alliance by design. We believe credible police accountability requires community leadership alongside legal, policy, academic, professional and organising expertise. Our Steering Group reflects that approach and helps connect local experience with national reform.
